The Process

1. Set up consultation where color palette, size, and setting of the oil painting will be discussed as well as various poses. Other aspects, such as location of painting and framing, will be explored.
2. May prepare a small color study working from life or from photographs, depending on size. This is done in order to confirm the pose, composition, and style of the painting.
3. Begin the finished portrait by working from photographs and/or life, depending on the conditions.
